We are so excited to share that Hadley and Logan had six precious babies on 9/5/2023… three boys and three girls! Mom and babies are all doing great and we are so in love with these little ones! Their Gotcha (Go-Home) Day is scheduled for 11/4/2023.

Hadley is 34# and 17″ tall at the shoulders, and Logan is 22# and 15″ tall at the shoulders, so we would expect most of their puppies to fall within approximately that weight/height range (with some possibly being smaller or larger) and be classified as “miniature” or small “medium” in size as adults. Both parents are curly and double furnished (that’s what gives them the cute eyebrow, mustache, and beard look!), so their puppies will be too. Although no breeder can ever guarantee that their puppies will be “hypoallergenic”, these puppies should be very allergy-friendly and low/non-shedding!

“Blue Boy” is parti (more than 50% white markings). “Pink Girl”, “Green Boy”, and “Red Boy” are all abstract (less than 50% white markings). “Orange Girl” and “Purple Girl” have no white markings. All of the puppies are sable, so they have black tips on the end of their fur as newborns. Being sable, their coat colors will change as the black tips on their fur grow out. They will usually keep some black and/or silver accent coloring on their ears and tails. So, it is too soon to tell for sure what colors they will be as they get older, but we should see a range in shades of apricot, chocolate, and silver! It is so fun to watch their looks change over time and we should see quite a bit of change before puppy picks take place!

The puppies also had their neonatal exam and dewclaw removal on 9/5/2023. It went well and our veterinarian does not have any concerns so we are opening the Litter Waiting List, which can be seen below. Updates and pictures of these beautiful babies can also be found below!

Hadley is busy taking care of her babies and she is a wonderful Mom! So much development happens during their first two weeks of life. Puppies’ eyes and ears are still closed when they are born, so they cannot see or hear. They also cannot regulate their own body temperature or eliminate on their own without help from their Mom. However, they do have a wonderful sense of smell and they can also sense heat. They use these senses to locate their mom for food and warmth! During the first couple of weeks the main focus is spending time with their Mom nursing and bonding. Initially they need to nurse every hour, and then every two hours. I sleep in the nursery with them and most of my time is devoted to taking care of Hadley and her babies!

Hadley and her babies are all doing well! They had their first check-up with the vet and also had their dewclaws removed. Since we live over an hour away from the vet we start our desensitization to car rides early! The puppies are gaining weight and they spend their days nursing and sleeping. We will start Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) with the puppies on day 3 and will continue with both until day 16.

Hadley’s babies are still doing great! They’re spending their days nursing, bonding with Mom, sleeping, and developing. We started ENS and ESI with the puppies on day 3 and will continue with both until day 16. Their eyes and ears are still closed, but it won’t be long before they open! Their little legs are also getting stronger as they try to partially stand while moving around the whelping box! They are also definitely getting bigger and having to compete for more space while nursing!

Hadley is still taking wonderful care of her babies! The puppies received ENS and ESI daily on days 3-16 and they will continue to receive daily age-appropriate handling exercises and exposure activities. Their eyes and ears are now opening. Their little legs are also getting stronger as they try to wobble around the whelping box. Mom and babies have all had their two-week wellness check and dewormings and they are all doing great!

The puppies’ eyes and ears are now open, their teeth are coming in, and they are becoming more stable on their little legs. They are also able to go to the bathroom on their own now and have started potty (litter box) training. They are definitely becoming more active and have started acting like puppies! They are wagging their tails, finding their voices with cute little playful growls and barks, and are showing intentional interaction by trying to play with their Mom and each other! It is so much fun to see their personalities starting to develop! Mom and babies have all had their four-week wellness check and dewormings and they are all doing great!

It is important to us that we honor the needs of both our puppies and their future families. Therefore, we perform Temperament/Aptitude testing when our puppies are approximately 7.5 weeks of age. Testing a puppy at this specific point in its development can give us a glimpse of the puppy’s abilities and needs going forward, which will also help families in choosing the puppy that is best suited for their family’s lifestyle and needs.

Temperament testing has been completed! Test scores for each puppy can be found on this litter’s Google Docs page, located  under the “Temperament Testing” tab.
