*** HADLEY & LOGAN HAD THEIR BABIES!! ***

We are so excited to share that Hadley and Logan had five precious boys on 9/1/2022! Yes, that’s right, they are all boys! Mom and babies are doing great and we are so proud of our first-time Mommy!

Hadley is 34# and 17″ tall at the shoulders, and Logan is 22# and 15″ tall at the shoulders, so we would expect most of their puppies to fall within approximately that weight/height range (with some possibly being smaller or larger) and be classified as “miniature” in size as adults. Being males, they will most likely be towards the upper end of that weight/height range and could end up being on the smaller end of the “medium” size range. Both parents are curly and double furnished (that’s what gives them the cute eyebrow, mustache and beard look!), so their puppies will be too. Although no breeder can ever guarantee that their puppies will be “hypoallergenic”, these puppies should be very allergy-friendly and low/non-shedding!

One puppy (“Green Boy”) is parti (more than 50% white markings). Three puppies (“Red Boy”, “Yellow Boy”, and “Blue Boy”) are abstract (less than 50% white markings) with white patches on their necks and chests. One puppy (“Orange Boy”) has a tiny white spot on his chin just like his Mommy. He could end up keeping it and be abstract, but he may also lose it and be solid (no white markings). All of the puppies are sable, so they have black tips on the end of their fur as newborns. Being sable, their coat colors will change as the black tips on their fur grow out. They will usually keep some black and/or gray accent coloring on their ears and tails, but not always. So, it is too soon to tell for sure what colors they will be as they get older, but we should see a range of apricot, chocolate, and gray shades! It is so fun to see how their looks change over time and we should see quite a bit of change before puppy picks take place!

The puppies had their neonatal exam and dewclaw removal on 9/3/2022. It went well and our veterinarian does not have any concerns so we are opening the Litter Waiting List, which can be seen below. Updates and pictures of these beautiful babies can also be found below!

Hadley is busy taking care of her babies and she is a wonderful Mom! So much development happens during their first two weeks of life. Puppies’ eyes and ears are still closed when they are born, so they cannot see or hear. They also cannot regulate their own body temperature or eliminate on their own without help from their Mom. However, they do have a wonderful sense of smell and they can also sense heat. They use these senses to locate their mom for food and warmth! During the first couple of weeks the main focus is spending time with their Mom nursing and bonding. Initially they need to nurse every hour, and then every two hours. I sleep in the nursery with them and most of my time is devoted to taking care of Hadley and her babies!

Hadley and her babies are all doing well! They had their first check-up with the vet and also had their dewclaws removed. Since we live over an hour away from the vet we start our desensitization to car rides early! The puppies are gaining weight and they spend their days nursing and sleeping. We started Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) with the puppies on day 3 and will continue with both until day 16.

Hadley is still taking wonderful care of her babies! We have finished with ENS and ESI. The puppies’ eyes and ears are open, their teeth are starting to come in, and they are becoming a little more stable on their little legs. They are also able to go to the bathroom on their own now. They are definitely becoming more active and have started acting like puppies! They are wagging their tails, finding their voices with cute little playful growls and barks, and are showing intentional interaction through socializing and trying to play with their Mom and each other! It is so much fun to see their personalities starting to develop!

These boys are as sweet as can be and their Mommy is still doing a good job of taking care of them! Their teeth have come in and they are almost weaned to regular kibble. They are doing well with learning to use their litter box with pine pellets. They have become even more playful with toys, each other, and their Mom. They love being held and getting attention from their humans. Their well-checks have been going well and they are also doing well with their puppy curriculum!

Temperament testing has been completed on each of the puppies! You can view the testing results on our Google Sheets document under the tab labeled “Temperament Testing” and you can watch the video of the testing below.

It is so hard to believe that these babies are eight weeks old already! They will be joining their fur-ever families soon!

All of these puppies are sable and can have shades of chocolate, apricot/red, and silver that vary throughout their lives. It truly is a gorgeous coat trait! Red Boy is currently the darkest of the puppies and has dark chocolate undertones to his fur (similar to his parents, Hadley and Logan). Orange Boy currently has mostly silver undertones on his body, tail, and face, with apricot undertones on his head and legs (similar to his grandma, Juneau). Yellow Boy currently has mostly apricot undertones with some silver. In addition to his white parti coat pattern, Green Boy currently also has shades of chocolate, apricot, and silver undertones. Blue Boy, the smallest boy in this litter, currently has shades of lighter brown and apricot/red undertones.

They are sable, so they can have shades of chocolate, apricot/red, and silver that vary throughout their lives, and they may or may not keep the black tips on their ears and tails. As the black sable tips of their fur grow out, Blue Boy continues to show shades of lighter brown and apricot/red undertones, and Yellow Boy continues to show shades of apricot and silver. Blue Boy is looking for his fur-ever home! He currently weighs 9.9# and he has consistently been the smallest puppy in the litter. He has just completed his puppy well-check and vaccination series. He is now fully vaccinated and is a healthy puppy cleared by our veterinarian with no concerns! His fur is starting to look a little scruffy, so now that he has been fully vaccinated he can begin visiting the groomer! His fur continues to lighten as his sable tips grow out, and he is expected to be mostly shades of light brown and/or apricot. Although he is still young and is not fully potty or house-trained yet, he has been doing very well with both crate and potty training.
